We offer the 15-hour  Basic RiderCourse ℠ is accepted by Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles as the required training prior to receiving your motorcycle license endorsement.   The State of Maine road test / exam is waivered upon successfully completion.

  Basic RiderCourse –The best place for a new rider to start once they’ve made the decision to ride. Successful completion of this course and its knowledge and skill tests, which consists of approximately five hours of classroom and 10 hours of on-cycle instruction (conducted over two sessions), will serve as a license test waiver program in Maine. Motorcycles are provided for your use during the course. A Maine Course Completion Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of such course. Also, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation {MSF}  course completion card will be provided for a possible rider insurance discount. Cost: $325.00 / Minimum $100 Deposit / No Refunds

Basic RiderCourse 2  (BRC2) – Formerly the ERC Suite – For riders who already have basic skills. It is very similar to the BRC except riders will be riding their own motorcycle. It is an excellent refresher course for practicing and renewing basic riding skills. There is an informal classroom component that discusses safety concepts based on past riding experiences and current knowledge. Also, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation {MSF} course completion card will be provided for a possible rider insurance discount. This also covers our military members requiring Level II training. Cost: $100.00 / No Refunds

Advanced RiderCourse (ARC) {From the Military SportBike RiderCourse}  A one-day course that complements a rider’s basic skills and helps with personal risk assessment. It includes a fast-paced classroom segment with several interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness. Range exercises enhance both basic skills and crash avoidance skills. Improving braking and cornering finesse is emphasized. The course is beneficial for riders on any type of street motorcycle. Also, a Motorcycle Safety Foundation {MSF} course completion card will be provided for a possible rider insurance discount. This also covers our military members requiring Level II training. CMMS will not be offering this course in the near future. Military personnel please check with your Base Safety Office or Command Motorcycle Safety Representative (MSR). You can call this office and we will gladly steer you in the right direction.

This online course is a key component of the full hands-on Basic RiderCourse, but can also be completed as a stand-alone program without enrolling in a hands-on course. Graphics and videos illustrate the lessons to help you understand principles of motorcycling and determine whether motorcycling is right for you. The Basic eCourse alone is NOT accepted as a license waiver by any state’s DMV, or as a motorcycle license or learner’s permit. With Spanish language option.
